This cleaning process consist of a water-based cleaning step, followed by one or multiple aqueous rinsing steps, oftentimes in  spray-in-air cleaning system (dishwasher or inline). The cleaner is sprayed via nozzles onto the electronic assembly surface as well as cleaning by ultrasonic or spray-under-immersion dip tank systems is possible. No flashpoint and a low VOC content are the main advantages of a water-based cleaning process.

The so-called micro phase cleaners (MPC®) are especially suitable for these aqueous cleaning processes and are based on the patented MPC® Technology or surfactant-based FAST® Technology.
