ZESTRON's heritage dates back to 1975 with the founding of Dr. O.K. Wack Chemie GmbH in Ingolstadt, Germany, a company committed to developing innovative cleaning alternatives for hard metal surfaces. Following this business's success, ZESTRON was incorporated in 1989. ZESTRON is dedicated to developing innovative cleaning solutions for the electronics industry.

At the time, this industry was reeling from the impact of the Montreal Protocol and in need of alternative cleaning solutions to the CFC based materials commonly used. ZESTRON was first to market with CFC replacement products as well as aqueous based cleaning alternatives in the coming years. Since then, ZESTRON has grown to become the world market leader in high precision cleaning products and services.
