IPC/APEX 2010 Recap: Successful Tradeshow Exhibit for ZESTRON's Environmentally Conscious Cleaning Technologies

Manassas, VA – April 21, 2010   ZESTRON, the worldwide leading supplier of high precision cleaning agents and services for the electronics manufacturing industry, had one of its most successful IPC/APEX exhibits, which focused on greener cleaning products and processes.

“We are delighted at the sheer number of current and future customers who came to our booth this year looking for a global resource for their cleaning challenges,” said Dr. Harald Wack, President ZESTRON Worldwide.  “Miniaturized components, more densely populated boards, a decrease in standoff heights coupled with high reliability requirements have led to a tremendous increase in precision cleaning applications, thereby creating a real need,” Dr. Wack explained.

In order to meet the industry’s demands, ZESTRON focused on its environmentally friendly products and processes during the show.  Specifically, the company highlighted the industry’s first-of-its-kind pH-neutral defluxing agent VIGON® N 501, which offers an excellent alternative to other cleaners while providing the numerous advantages of pH-neutrality. PH-neutral cleaning agents can eliminate the need for excessive waste water neutralizations, thus, leading to greener, more cost effective cleaning processes.  ZESTRON also exhibited its vapor recovery devices (ZESTRON® Demister and Condenser), which were developed to reduce cleaning agent losses (up to 85%) while minimizing VOC emissions from automated operations leading to more environmentally conscious processes and cost savings for the customer.

Furthermore, Umut Tosun, M.S.Chem.Eng., Application Technology Manager, ZESTRON America, presented “Limitations of DI-Water Cleaning Processes.”  The well-attended presentation offered an insight to the number of previously unknown long-term benefits of chemistry-assisted cleaning that can exceed those of DI-water cleaning processes.

“Overall, the show was a great success, not only for ZESTRON, but also for the IPC and the entire electronics manufacturing industry,” says Michael McCutchen, Manager Sales & Marketing, ZESTRON America.
