During the past years, the associated increase in the complexity of components in the electronics industry has resulted in a continuous decrease in standoff spacing under and between components. At the same time, the demand for material compatibility and product reliability is continuously increasing.
To overcome the above-mentioned challenges, ZESTRON’s R&D department has been working on the development of a pH-neutral defluxing technology for several years.
VIGON® N 501 was specifically developed to be used in spray-in-air inline as well as batch cleaning processes utilizing low concentrations of 5-15%.
“First-of-its-kind” defluxing product with pH = 7
Its ability to remove a wide range of flux residues from electronic assemblies under pH-neutral conditions is unprecedented. The cleaning performance was subject to extensive cleaning trials, conducted at ZESTRON’s global Technical Centers, utilizing difficult to remove eutectic as well as lead-free fluxes and pastes. This products main benefits include but are not limited to:
- VIGON® N 501 is able to clean no-clean, OA as well as RMA based fluxes at concentrations as low as 5%.
- Due to the pH-neutrality of the cleaning agent, no costly waste water
neutralization is required and disposal is greatly facilitated.
- VIGON® N 501 is especially safe for “media entrapment” under low
standoff components where rinsing and drying are not always guaranteed.
- The cleaning agent’s pH-neutral formulation demonstrates an unparalleled level of material compatibility on sensitive materials such as aluminum, brass, or nickel, etc. as well as several different plastics, labels and ink materials.
